So, everyone make sure to clear their calendars for Lyons Fat Tire Fest V! Memorial Day weekend 2005. I'll be setting up the webpage for that soon. Oh, and the bikelyons.com doesn't do anything anymore. I still own the domain name, but it doesn't connect. All the bikelyons stuff goes thru the shop site. Anyway...
If anyone is interested in riding something more significant than Hall Ranch on Friday, or if you want to do it earlier than 6:30ish, I can take that Friday off. Let me know. I thought that'd be a good day to head up to Johnny Park or maybe something different. I'm working on the master schedule for the fest right now. I'll get it all hammered out and up on the website after I get y'alls feedback.
Also, the big Saturday ride will be more or less an all dayer, as always. We'll leave early and get back in time to pick up the keg and start partying. If anyone has feedback on that, too, let me know. I'll be finalizing the route this Spring when I get a chance to go ride it all. So far, what I'm thinking will only be about 10-15 miles, but the terrain is pretty ferocious. Nothing as technical as last year, but steep will be the name of the game. Probably a little hike a bike, too. If I pre ride the route and it doesn't pan out, I'll have to resort to plan B. I'll devise plan B at that point.
I'd like to ride Sunday, too, but it'll probably be pretty mellow. I'll have to run that one by the ladies. Feedback on a Sunday ride?
This year will probably have more people, too (at least on Sat).
Oh, and if you're reading this, you're invited.

Yo !!! Damb dave you on the planning committee already ???
You know for damb sure that i'll be there to ride, drink, party, and maybe even give you a chance to win some of your hard earned cash back in a game or two of horseshoes !!! Just thinking about some of the prior rides gets me all excited with anticipation for 05'. Keep me in mind when planning the routes !! Might have to rope Jparker in a trip down as well.

That'd be sweet, bring down some of the MT Crew! That reminds me...
Any objections to a homebuilt horshoe pit at the DMZ household?
I guess what I was asking about Friday is, would anyone plan to be here early enough to ride?
Let me check the magic 8 ball.
(.................magic 8 ball working its magic.....)
It came up yes!
Looks like the Kirks will be up in time to ride on Friday!
Magic "The Simpsons" 8 Ball (all rights reserved) says:
"Ay Carumba!"
Maybe I'll try and show up too. . .
what time and where does it take off from,
I've got the 12 hour race on Memorial Day,
at branched oak, but if it's an early ride, or something, it would be purdy sweet.

It'd be difficult to make both, but Lyons, CO is only a 7 hour drive away!

The site will be updated soon. It's a good time. We basically ride and party every day over Memorial Day. It's looking like we'll do 1 solid day Friday followed up with a Saturday ride that should prove pretty epic. Sunday's up in the air - last year we just hung out and played horseshoes. Bring your $1s.
Count me in for the trip. I will do my best to make it up and ride on Friday.
i'm there dude. that 12 hour race at branched oak is a bad joke. it's not a race, so i'll save my $25 and come out and hit the 'fest. maybe i'll even bring some white athletic tape and do up the highway sign to 'testes park'... nah, i'd never do that... heh heh heh...
sorry i missed last year. i mistakenly thought that 12 hour race would be fun... won't make that mistake twice.
i can't wait!!!

Glad to hear you won't be AWOL from the rides for year #3!
