It's dry, for now. A couple weeks with no precip and tons of warmth = bone dry sunday down here. Hall Ranch is good to the bench (through the rock garden) sloppy for a couple hundred yards, then mostly dry to the loop. See:
Just a little heads up. The reason I do the fancey links is that if a link runs wrong the text of the post or comment wraps wrong and messes the page up big time. Remember last week I called you to see if the page was looking correct on your machine? Well it was a long link and was messing text up on chaybo's and my work computer. If it wasn't for that I would just copy and past them. Here's the format TEXT.
Sorry for the Hijack. Where did you take this picture at? Driving home from Lyons one afternoon is my guess.
This is Camp Hale, about 3 miles from where we'll be at mid-month. I just finished reading a history of the 10th Mountain Division's creation and tour of duty on WWII. Interesting stuff. Some friends have a 'cabin' just over the pass, and the ski area is small, all real snow, etc. This will be year number 3 we've gotten the invite. Did I mention, when I say cabin, I mean luxury house in the woods? Yeah, it's good.
Other place, is Wolf Creek, near the NM border. I haven't been there, but Mic and Pablo swear by it. Should be good since they've been doing the 6 hour drive pretty regularly. There we stay in a 'real' cabin.
Gawddamnit this site is updating slow and i'm impatient.
The picture is due west of our place, about 5-7 miles. Community Ditch/Marshall Mesa trails. I think we took you there once, Brian. Anyway, it's my 20 mile route from home, perfect for the cross bike as it's got a little highway, 2 track, singletrack, gravel road. I tried it on the Homegrown Sunday, it wasn't nearly as good. Singles are tricky here, choosing the correct gear for the terrain. I could have done it on a 2:1, but was running 32:18, which is better for the climbing we usually do. (Most folks who ride singles exclusively out here run a 32:20 or so).
hey guys. i need to get in a good weekend of riding before june. like, i'm thinking early march end of feb. what ever. something dry. something mountainous and epic. lots of friends. not too gigantic of a drive. like a friday saturday sunday monday morning ride sort of weekend. any suggestions and who all could make that?
like early april? maybe i could go that late? probably pushin it. no.2 on the way hollyshit! maybe if i could do that then i could also sneek in a shorter but long weekend out with ganz chase and crew...what about that?
I got clearance probably for 1 weekend, possibly including a Friday. I don't really care when or where. I'm kind of in the same boat - short drive definitely would be nice.
Shit bros, after April 1 there's lots o' nice riding around here, too.
Give me some warning and I could likely make something work. This whole married thing puts a crimp on the last minute plans. The only issue between now and say, end of March, is that any weekend we could get blasted with snow, but you know that.
homies!!! yeah. due date. end of june. i should be responsible but she knows i've got a long weekend due before number two. and i want to get something on my calendar pretty soon. i should see when mg and jp and pc can get some time.
