But I think that extra 30 would be of monumental nature. I want do do this: 100 miles
I just wonder at what point would I suffer from death. I've ridden all of it except Loop 1, and that's one I've wanted to do for a while now. The riding on the east side of town involves some really, really steep terrain, too.
Anyone sick enough to want to do this? I may be coerced...

That's the loop that ONLY goes over the 10 mile range right? I'd find myself at the start line looking up at all those moutains and perhaps finally realize what a f**king dumbass I am. Really.
Doesn't mean I won't find myself there.
I'd really like to maim myself in the firecracker 50, assuming that's still happening.
yeah, i'm down with some enduro race this year. firecracker, i haven't done but daveril says is awesome. laramie, had a great time last year and in 2000. or something like the one you mentioned. but i got a preg wife to enter into the year's happenings. so i'm not sure what's up for me.
i think now my best bet is a late feb or early march fruita trip...we can get that together eh?
I'm down for an enduro. No trips for me until April. I have depleted all vacation time. '05 interbike what's up?
Does that mean you won't be making it out here around the March 19-20 timeframe?
what's happening then?
some married ladies are headed to Vegas on an anti-bike trip.
i need women to be there to entertain my preg wife! hmm.
or maybe not? what is your plan for that weekend. fruita?
Well, for me, Ladies Trip = Dadd gets some quality time with Z. Gramma's comin' out to help as I'll be working days and bike shop on weekend. I'm covered up.
Got clearance for a weekend trip to wherever for the Spring, though. Salida? Fruita/GJ? hmmmmm
I'm looking to do a couple of enduros this year. I don't know about 100 miles. I would have to be sold on that. But it may not take much. As far as a spring trip, would love to head out there for fruita. Salida would nice too, what is that like.

Salida is mmm good. It's about 3-4 hrs from here, so it's a tad closer, too.
The riding season for Salida starts a little later in the Spring, though. The riding is fantastic. Don't know if you've ever heard of Monarch Crest or the Rainbow Trail, but they both call Salida the home front. Monarch is pretty high, though. That's more of a summer ride.
Rainbow is sweet. Blood Trail is a bootleg dowhill from Rainbow that drops steeply and technically to a very bizarre spiny/droppy area. Fantastic. Then there's the riding from town. Crazy bearded local guy showed us around up there. He basically finds super sicko bunny trails and hits them on his '92 Giant ATX 770 rigid. Tennis shoes, no shirt and a foam old school helmet and he had us scratching our head at what an amazing rider he was.
Salida is a little unknown mecca.
so when would salida be ride-able? and which direction from your place?
Salida is about 3ish hours from here, southwest. It's south of Leadville and Breck. When is it ridable? different every year, We were there in early April and it was great. Two very different and satisfying rides in two days. Could make you wish you'd kept the Intense.
