Apprehension, Pain, Relief, and Accomplishment

I hope it feels like an accomplishment after its all done. Looks like I'm out a couple hundred bucks this October. And no beer ride either.

No 'beer ride', not 'no beer.'

Story goes like this: I realized a former boss-man was hanging at MTBR and helping plan the CO gathering. Or rather, he realized who I was. Anyway, we rode together a couple times this summer, including a remarkably similar ride at Laramie. Within 20 minutes of me finishing, he was asking if I was interested in doin Moab...

Moab's a wierd deal if you don't have it worked out in advance, jockeying for position, teams, etc, becomes a bit of a diplomatic hassle, especially, when for instance, you get another offer to race it, this time from a close friend, Mic, run on sentence, gin talking, anyway...

Having not one but two offers for my first 24 hours, I considered and decided Mic's idea was a better fit. Hopefully I'm right. It's going to be hard, i can't wait.

I don't know what's up lately, I'm not so interested in fast, more interested in epic and slow and big. Honestly, I've even been thinking about trying to finish Leadville next year. Is this what old feels like?
