ooooh. 75miles in 8hrs. mostly raining. riding in deep grass in the ditch for miles at a time at 6mph. and walking at 3mph. ouch. and that was enough for me. i could have ridden with the folks that i was with at the end but i'm using with in a very general term as they were way up the road. it was sweet that i rolled up as they were gathering to take off again tho. and at that point i was in the group behind the lead group. and everyone in the front group and 4 of the 6 of the group i was in dropped. only 2 crazy canadians rode into algona. it would have been misery even with no more b roads. they were more motovated then i was at that point.
i think i'll have to register for next year and hope for better conditions. i felt so damm good for the first few hours. i wouldn't change a thing as far as prep or gear or the bike was concerned. i wanted to see what the second leg was going to be like and no one had that opprotunity this year. damm.
