dude. this was a sweet ride. awesome conditions. there was some slipping and sliding but there also was some drifting and railing. i pinched on the way across this deal due to my stupid low pressure.
actually in my history i've had exceptional luck with that. i've been surprised time and time agan that the rim hitting feelings (gentle of course!) don't immediately result in quick loss of pressure. this day, i felt the front and rear rim hit but only the front went down. guess that's what happens when your pushing 20psi around...
i know what you mean about squirmy but i dont get the same feeling like i used to on 26. maybe its 2.3 compared to 2.0 instead of 26 vs. 29?
anyways. 2nd sweet snow ride today (sunday). a few other folks had gone thru and a sweet track had been formed. if you stuck to the line you can fly and skate thru the turns. pretty awesome feeling.
WIIIIIIIIIIIIILS! Where were we...? Only at one of the Midwest's biggest 'cross races of the year!! Speaking of which, I've missed you at the races. Are you coming out to the Branched Oak races on December 17-18?
debaser, how much pressure do you typically run during the summer on your niner? before the snow i was typically running 30-32psi, and now i'm down to about 24-25 for the snow. no bottoming out issues like mw had. i think he might have been more in the 16-18lb range before he flatted tho. it was sick-low. i couldn't believe it when i first felt it, actually.

You're insane!
I always seem to ride higher pressures. I hate squirmy tires

Nice, today was my first cold ride of the year. 20 degrees. Not only did I survive, I wished I had more time out and about.
i hate changing flats in the cold.
Wilderness looks awesome with all that snow. I'm coming back in May and am looking forward to railing thru the park.
