Lost Horse Road was a Byotch
Jesus H chrimany.......18 inches of overnight snow and the pugs was at it's limit. More than once i found myself thinking "snowshoes". Anyway....rick and i trudged on and further on down the road we met up with a few snowmobilers that were more than a little intrigued with what the hell we were up to. We exchanged hellos and they left comments on the size of our tires and we were off. The trail was really soft and on the way up it was little ring action and in the back very thankful for the 34 cog. A soft pedaling action was best. After a couple of hours of floundering around in the powder we decided to head it on in, and it was almost as hard coming back downhill as it was going up.
We both decided that a stop at Lost Horse Saloon was a must.
take care friends !

I wouldn't get on a pug at mwc 'casue I knew I'd want one. I bet those pugs are right at home!
so you both on pugleys?
wills....i brought two of them into the shop.
snowbike rentals !
that's cool. its sweet that tire size makes certain things possible.
Man that just looks like a whole lotta fun! Mind if I stop by and rent one those pugs!
Oh yeah to bad their so purple!
Awww, sh*********t... That looks like more fun than a bag of squirrels with just one nut... Seriously, If I ever get a chance to hit up that there saloon after getting rocked by deep snow on a wicked fat-tired bike, I'll have been to somewhere just beyond purgatory.
huh ? Hoss.....purgatory, and a bag of squirels fighting over one nut. Funny shit, but you Lost me dude.
later
Looks like I'll have to come down some time this winter now and try one of those things out.
hoss....which part. The drinking or the snow biking ?
combined together, it just can't be beat. Something different, something new, and add in some big ass tires....aaaawwwwww Shit !
Awww, yes... BOTH! The combination of the two...
I'm picturing red cheeks and numb fingers intering a cozy warm bar, muscles a little weak from the efforts, yet energized in a soulful sense. Hop up on a bar stool and peel off some damp layers and toast to the toasty dry air in the woodstove heated bar and the sating of raw throats with some fine toasted malt ales...
Damn!
it's prettyy cool hoss
gotta try it out in it's element. Bdidd and i had it out yesterday for about 4 hours...two of which was spent huddled up next to a campfire that we got going at the halfway point. Pull out the thermos, guzzled down 40oz of fresh drip coffee and then raised hell on the downhill. Good times.
bdidd nearly shit himself too. Says i need more then just a rear brake ; )
Yep warmed ourselves up by the fire and the bombed back down the Mountain!
As far as the need for more brakes.
Nah! Just as long as you don't have your camera out trying to take pictures. Imagine me taking pics with my right hand and holding onto the handlebar with the left. Rye creek road is steadily on the decline and the pugs are nauturally gaining some momentum. My front brake hand goes through the motion of grabbing the brake. Ohhhhhh Shitt! No Brake There! I rolled in and out of one snow moblie track and just held on for dear life. What a good time! The rear brake only setup was more than enough to stop the girth of the pugsley! For the rest of the ride I had my hand near the brake lever.
I need a pugsley.
I'm even starting to like that fooked up purple color!
All I can think is HELLS YEAH! I would totally go until I puked! I'm going to go on record and say that that'll be my next purchase.
Have a spicy cold one for me you sons to sonsies!
