got er done

203 miles. 15.25hrs in the saddle. 6.10am start to 11.00pm finish. i finished in a group of 3. i think we finished 12, 13, 14. there were 4 finishers after us. i think half of the racers dropped.

this pic was after the 88 mile checkpoint. there was a 50mile gap from the check to the next town. it was so remote. prairie after prairie. i'd do it again in a second.

Great job MW! That took some definite personal fortitude. Looks great in the pic. Maybe you should just ride here from NE for the Lyons Fat Tire Fest!

the race was the dirty kanza. 200 miles. started and ended in emporia ks. the first 88mile leg was to the north and around in a big bubble. at the checkpoint we got the map for the 2nd leg. that was to the south in a big bubble. the wind was 10-15 most of the day from the east. with a slight push to the north at the start. almost seemed like we got more tailwind for our tailwind buying dollar. there was a nasty section near the end that was all headwind and i was by myself. i let 2 riders catch me at that point and we hammered the last 40 back to the start finish.
