Let me start by saying sorry to Dave for burying his post. Anyone who is even thinking about taking Dave up on his invite should. His entire crew on the front range will take you in with open arms. I have had the privilge of making it to quite a few of the gatherings and it is always a good time!

This last weekend I had a first. I signed up for a supported tour of the Swan river valley. Two days 110 miles each day up to Swan lake camp and then the same route back. This was all on pavement. I didn't snap a pic until we arrived at our destination. We had a great group of riders that seemed to shrink and expand from three to eight for various reasons. Breakfast lunch and dinner was provided both days and it was sure was good. The lunch stop had homemade chicken noodle soup. This was the 38 th edition of the ride. I think that there were 175 riders out on the road for the event. We left from Missoula following highway 200 until it met up with highway 82 North. This sure was a good time and I hope to do it next year.

This is one of the last pictures that I took on the way back and I am going to chose to remember the trip this way instead of the last brutal 40 miles of head wind back down into Missoula.

Howdy 'Lampers. We're riding next weekend. It'd be great if any of you could make it out. Friday we ride at 2, back by 6 or 7 pm. Sat is the deathmarch. We'll have 2 different rides. If anyone can recall the first ever Lyons Fat Tire Fest, we'll be doing the same big ass loop. It's about 35 miles, lots of climbing and it will be raining (hopefully). We're meeting up at 8:30 am at the shop for that one. I'll be providing the breakfast and the beer on that day, :)

Thanks also for all the good words on the new shop and sorry I haven't been on Lampin too much lately. It's been pretty hectic out here. I quit my PI job (last day was 5/2) so now Mary and I are 100% self supported by our own businesses. Yikes. I gotta be honest. Honker Hanger was truly an inspiration. Miss all your mugs.

One Rabbit Valley Photo

It was warm here this weekend. Like in the 70's. Helped air up tires at the grizzly triatholn on saturday and found some good dirt on Sunday. The mountains to the right are in the rattlesnake wilderness and way off to the left are the mission mountains. Um I am ready to ride how about everyone else?

Well, after many trials and tribulations, I finally opened up Redstone Cyclery V2 on Saturday. We've been in the building for a couple of months doing renovations. I'm glad it's finally time - I'm tired.

Just picked up this 1996 beauty from Frank. I have always been fond of the tiger stripe paint job. Wayne and Brian are still sporting the tangerine version. This baby is the big daddy XL version with a 23.5" top tube. Look at that short head tube (ugh, my back hurts already). What are suggestions for the build? Is it total retro ala 1996, or the new fangled stuff with outboard crank bearings and linear pull (no disc options).

Great day to go visit my favorite yucca. 50ish, with clouds building to the north with promises of big snow tonight. I tried to convince Butch to come ono over to see it, but he wanted to sit in traffic instead.

It was about a nine hour drive from Missoula. We had loaded up 6 beater bikes for the four of us. It seemed like every time we were about to start pedaling we were trying to recruit two riders for the other two bicycles. I think we only left the spares behind one time. The show was really cool again this year. It was a little crowded. One thing at this show that makes it a little more difficult to get in and check out all of the details of each bicycles is almost everyone has a camera. It's cool though thats how the builders get their name out there to everyone over the inturdnet. There was a lot of cool shit but the highlight for me was the all the riding around Portland that we got in while we were there. It would not have been as fun without BIKES! Here are some pics please help me with the details in the comments. This was Ricks 50th birthday weekend! Happy 50th Rick!

Winter Park Singletrack

Headed up to the Fraser this weekend for a little get away time. Didn't want to mess with the resort and all the big bucks, so I packed the xc skis. I wanted to hit the Creekside/Flume loop, but that whole area is closed for pine beetle removal. What I got instead was climbing up the backside of Tippery. I've never played on the xc trails there in the winter, and now I can't wait to go back. I will, however, wait for this fresh blister to heal.
