South Side Road Loop

I have been wanting to do this 60 mile road loop for a while. Its basically 20 miles of road and 40 miles of gravel and dirt. I knew I was pushing the envelop on the dirt portion being dirt. It ended up being slop but it was a good ride and I'll do it again before may.





Crossed under I90 at Petty Creek Road. The 9 mile saloon which is where I planed on filling up on water and nerd ropes was still on winter hours and I was there about an hour and a half early. Last chance for nerd ropes but the low matinance southside road was ahead.

Spring Has Sprung

Contrary to the weather forecast (snow again), Spring has sprung.

That is dirt from Platte River kids. I took a gamble against the weatherman and won. The prize, some sweet trails and no battling 40mph winds. I have to give thanks to Showen for the heads up on trail conditions.

new commuter

i treated myself to a new commuter bike. i took a pic prior to mounting fenders and a rear rack. had to create a front bracket to deal with the suspension corrected fork. had to create a bracket to mount the front end of the rear fender to something. used the hole for the plastic der wire routing dealy. also had to extend and widen a jand rear rack to deal with the disk brake. not perfect looking. we'll see how it holds up. used the cranks, bb, pedals and rack from my 8000 which turned 17yrsold.

so nice to commute on a nice freshly built new bike.

Keeping the Tuesday Night Ride tradition going

We started Tuesday nighters in Lyons about 5 years ago. They're going pretty strong now. Even when it's sub 30 with snow on the ground, we can still rally 5 or 6 other guys into riding. We went to a local Moto playground last night. It's really step and generally not a ton of fun, but there is one smoking singletrack descent there that is top notch.

I put this on the Redstone blog, which some of you check, but Lampin has been slow lately, so enjoy!

As long as the weather holds, the family and I will be back in Omaha Wed-Sun of the coming week. I'll have my cross bike only since my mtb shifter thumb is out of commission, and we'd love to see some people while we're back. What's going on? Anybody getting together for a ride or some hanging out?
