not a great picture and hard to tell, but the bridge is over the main river channel, but there's flood water in the fields on the iowa side for miles and miles. it was an excuse for a state line ride. i hope things return to normal along the riverside.

Super stoked and more than a little freaked out, we picked up and moved shop between Xmas and New Years. Opened for bidness in the new spot on the last day of 2010. Just got this frame recently. Raleigh XXIX pro reynolds 853 tubeset. Seems like it might be a better fit than the Ventana. The nice thing is all of the parts moved over with no problems. I looks like I will be able to remove the Chris King +5mm crown race. I will hopefully post a few pictures when I get it out in the sunshine.

I have been wanting to do this 60 mile road loop for a while. Its basically 20 miles of road and 40 miles of gravel and dirt. I knew I was pushing the envelop on the dirt portion being dirt. It ended up being slop but it was a good ride and I'll do it again before may.Crossed under I90 at Petty Creek Road. i treated myself to a new commuter bike. i took a pic prior to mounting fenders and a rear rack. had to create a front bracket to deal with the suspension corrected fork. had to create a bracket to mount the front end of the rear fender to something. used the hole for the plastic der wire routing dealy. also had to extend and widen a jand rear rack to deal with the disk brake. not perfect looking

We started Tuesday nighters in Lyons about 5 years ago. They're going pretty strong now. Even when it's sub 30 with snow on the ground, we can still rally 5 or 6 other guys into riding. We headed back to Washington for Thanksgiving. Used to be, the inlaws had an extra car and I had more free time (no kid), so I'd rent a bike, drive the car out to Capital Forest (super fun) and disappear for an afternoon or two,Now, the transportation is gone, time is short, but I still need to get away. Melissa bought this for me for $30 bucks. Its in purdy good shape. There is a Missoula license on it from 1974. The bike has 24" wheels and a sweet 3 speed shifter. I guess its a schwinn manta ray copy. I have the bike mostly cleaned up and bearings repacked. I'll take a few more pics when I take it out for a ride.

Thought I'd give a Lampin' shout out to Mary, who just finished her first ever marathon today. woohoo! She's done several halfs, but this was her first shot at the real deal. Denver Marathon. Finally. Last Monday we finally opened the Picture Rock Trail. The trail leaves from town in Lyons and heads to the south to access the Heil Ranch trail system. It's good. This particular trail is a long uphill 5.5 mile tight and technical gem. With this and Hall Ranch right here, you can bet I won't be driving much to ride anymore.

Weekend getaway, Two hours up the road in the land of wide open spaces. Things look a lot different when I'm not up there riding the Enduro, and when there's hours of fresh cut IMBA designed singletrack to ride. Things look really good. Seems everyone has had a set of tires that aren't happy coming off or going on a paticular rim. Tire levers come and go, and that's why I dug a pair out of my bag - the garage set seem to have gone somewhere I can't find them. As I was working the old tires off the rim, I broke a lever. Bummer.It wasn't just any tire lever, but one of the pair I've been carrying for a while now. The levers form

car felt weird. and car was making noise when encountering bumps in corners. got underneath and found a broken bracket to the driver side rear sway bar. the bar was flexing enough to smack the back of the mufler. a call to the salvage yard was successful. got home. put it on and car feels much better. it was pushing harder than i remember. no longer.

S-house and I took a short (way too short!) trip over to CB this weekend, to see what all the fuss is about. Shhhh...let's try to keep this amongst our little group here, but the mountain bike riding in Crested Butte is actually pretty decent. The scenery isn't all that bad either....
